The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Ref. 1500 represents everything collectors admire about vintage Rolex watches: timeless proportions, precious metal construction, and one of the most respected automatic movements Rolex ever produced.
This beautiful example dates to approximately 1970 and features a solid
14K yellow gold (.585) Oyster case measuring 34mm. The case has been
XRF tested and confirmed as solid 14K gold.
The elegant champagne stick dial complements the warm gold case perfectly,
creating a refined and timeless vintage Rolex aesthetic.
Powering the watch is the legendary Rolex Caliber 1570 automatic movement,
considered by many collectors to be one of the finest and most durable vintage Rolex movements ever made. The movement has been serviced and runs great.

As commonly seen on vintage Rolex watches from this era, the serial number located between the lugs has become heavily worn from decades of bracelet removals, spring bar changes, strap replacements, and routine servicing.
This area of the case frequently experiences contact from spring bar tools over many decades, which can gradually reduce the visibility of the original stamped serial number. While the serial number is now only partially visible and difficult to read, the inside of the case retains a clean and clearly identifiable Rolex Reference 1500 marking.
This condition is commonly encountered on honest vintage Rolex watches that have been worn and enjoyed for more than fifty years and does not affect the functionality or collectibility of the watch.
Included with the watch is an original Rolex 14K yellow gold buckle. The current leather strap is aftermarket and not Rolex branded. Upon request, we can install a new leather strap prior to shipping. Any replacement strap provided will also be aftermarket and not Rolex branded.
